Description
Abstract
(i) semiosis expectante (trabajo vivo), (ii) semiosis coagulante (trabajo muerto), (iii) semiosis
mistificante (poder objetivado), (iv) semiosis fulgurante (poder creador).
The present research aims to question the processes of meaning production (semiosis) in the capital-labor relationship from a Marxist perspective of emancipation. From this conceptual framework we identify various processes of semiosis composed by the opposition of living labor and dead labor that can be categorized as: (i) expectant semiosis (living labor, (ii) coagulating semiosis (dead labor), (iii) mystifying semiosis (objectified power), (iv) fulgurate semiosis (creative power). This identification allows us to draw the distinction between an alienated semiotic production that is actualized in language as communicative praxis, and the production of a fulgurate semiosis embodied with emancipatory signs. Even though our exploration presents a (re)interpretation of the relations between language-capital and the “language of commodities” (Warensprache), the main proposal lies in the role of the relationship between fulgurate semiosis and creative power. We conclude that the possibility of an emancipated society is given by the radical creativeness that is contained in the direction (meaning, semiosis) of creative power. That is to say, a radical creativeness that can only be imagined and desired through a fulgurate semiotics
