Description
Abstract
This research carried out at the SAFA University Centre, attached to the University of Jaén, shows the evolution of the teaching staff's research activity. After the entry into force of LOMLOU (2007), there was a significant increase in research activity. In this sense, our working hypothesis is that the appearance of legislation regulating the number of accredited by the Quality Agencies, national ANECA or regional, marks a turning point in the research of the centre. The research procedure consisted of a descriptive analysis. The data from the research carried out by the teaching staff of the CU SAFA was collected and related to the effect it has had on the accreditation of the centre by the evaluation agencies. As a main conclusion, it can be stated that the research activity of the university centre has led to activities that are as profitable as possible, leading to accreditation by the evaluation agencies. All this work by the teaching staff has resulted in a progressive increase in the number of accredited teaching staff. The challenge is to eliminate meritocratic biases in research activities and to direct research towards improving teaching at the CU on the basis of a model of scientific production aimed at quality training and at the service of the community and the common good. In this sense, it would also be necessary to review the evolution of the six-year periods over the years and their current significance and transcendence.
