Abstract
Mi labor investigadora, inserta dentro del proyecto de investigación del Diccionario de la Ciencia y de la Técnica en el Renacimiento dirigido por la profesora María Jesús Mancho Duque, se concretó en la realización del trabajo de grado titulado Estudio del léxico de la industria textil y de la sastrería en la época renacentista. La amplitud y exhaustividad de este estudio nos convencieron de la poca rentabilidad que obtendríamos si continuábamos investigando sobre este tema en la tesis doctoral. Por tanto, decidimos orientar nuestro trabajo hacia un tema muy diferente, el de la fortificación, sumamente interesante, rico e innovador en la época renacentista. Al tratarse de una parcela temática poco tratada lexicográficamente con el rigor filológico necesario, creemos que los resultados alcanzados serán extremadamente valiosos, y más si tenemos en cuenta que la fortificación forma parte de nuestro patrimonio histórico y debe, por tanto, conservarse y ser estudiada.
My research work, inserted into the Research Project of the Dic- tionary of Science and Technology in the Renaissance, led by Ph.D. María Jesús Mancho Duque, culminated in the completion of my first-degree dissertation entitled Study of the vocabulary of textiles and tailoring in the Renaissance. The extent and exhaustivity of this study convinced us that we would get little profitability if we continued researching on this area in the Doctoral Thesis. We, therefore, decided to aim our work towards the field of fortifaction a very different subject, but also very interesting, rich and innovative during the Renaissance. Since this area of knowledge has been little studied lexicographically with the philological rigour necessary, we believe the results to be achieved will be extremely valuable, especially if we consider that fortification is part of our heritage and should, therefore, be preserved and studied.
