Análisis e interpretación de la columna de opinión en la obra periodística del murciano José García Martínez

Abstract

Objetivos.- El presente trabajo analiza 300 columnas de opinión del periodista murciano José García Martínez publicadas en el periódico La Verdad entre los años 1975 y 2010. Para ello, se ha utilizado un análisis de contenido que ha permitido identificar las particularidades y características en cuanto a temas, enfoque, estructura y lenguaje que el autor utiliza. Se trata de un periodista singular por el hecho de haber desarrollado durante más de medio siglo su carrera profesional en un único medio, y, de ellos, más de 40 años escribiendo columnas de opinión, de manera que ha originado una producción que ronda las 15.000 columnas. De hecho, la investigación hace un recorrido por su obra periodística. Metodología.- La tesis doctoral que presentamos trata de una investigación cualitativa-cuantitativa basada en el análisis de la obra del periodista García Martínez. En primer lugar se han buscado las columnas de opinión publicadas por García Martínez en el diario La Verdad, entre los años 1975 y 2010, en la Biblioteca General de la Universidad de Murcia y en el diario La Verdad. A continuación, se ha elaborado una ficha que contiene todos los aspectos para ser analizados sobre el tema, el enfoque, la estructura y el lenguaje. La herramienta de trabajo para el análisis de las columnas ha sido el programa estadístico SPSS. Elaboración y realización de entrevistas a sus coetáneos y otros periodistas que trabajan la columna de opinión. Conclusiones - El estudio que se aborda en este trabajo nos lleva a afirmar que García Martínez es un columnista que encuentra en la columna de tipo personal la mejor forma para dar a conocer lo que quiere transmitir, y lo hace recurriendo a la libertad propia que otorga este tipo de columnas, tanto desde el punto de vista del lenguaje como en la elección de los temas. El autor se muestra libre de formulismos y se dirige al lector con la naturalidad con la que se encuentra cómodo a la hora de contar acontecimientos. Comprobamos también que García Martínez tiene unas particularidades propias, entre las que destaca el uso de un lenguaje de proximidad, para lo que acude a un registro usado en el área geográfica de la Región de Murcia, así como a términos propios que escucha en la calle y traslada a la columna. Utiliza con profusión expresiones coloquiales, y encontramos en la oralidad y la interlocución sus principales recursos para acercarse al lector. El autor busca la complicidad con su audiencia a través de la utilización de expresiones, refranes o dichos conocidos, en su afán de hacerse entender, y que en ocasiones altera conscientemente recurriendo, si fuera necesario, al humor. En cuanto a la estructura de su columna, hemos comprobado que García Martínez no tiene ni arranques ni finales característicos, ni recurre habitualmente a una estructura circular; concediendo, por el contrario, más valor a un tono coloquial que mantiene desde el principio al final de la columna. A través de las columnas del autor se manifiesta su ethos, que en este caso refleja el gusto por lo cotidiano y por la sencillez, su rechazo a los términos extranjeros, su afición por la lectura, su querencia por la naturaleza, la música clásica y las cosas sencillas, el orgullo de haber nacido en la comarca del Altiplano y el recuerdo de su infancia que le hace aportar frases y expresiones escuchadas en su niñez, la exaltación de su profesión, su sensibilidad frente al uso consciente de un lenguaje más llano -ya que se ha comprobado que, en ocasiones, el autor utiliza registros más literarios de marcada belleza-, y su obsesión por hacerse entender. Objectives.- This research analyzes 300 columns of Murcia journalist José García Martínez review published in the newspaper “La Verdad” between 1975 and 2010. For this, we used a content analysis that enabled to show the features and characteristics in terms of issues, approach, structure and language the author uses. He is a specialist journalist because he developed over more than half a century his career in a unique “environment”, and of these, more than 40 years writing opinion articles, so that he has a production of around 15,000 columns. In fact, research takes us through his journalistic work. Methodology. – This research is a qualitative-quantitative work based on the analysis of the articles of the journalist García Martínez. First of all, the opinion columns published by García Martínez between 1975 and 2010, in the General Library of the University of Murcia and in the newspaper “La Verdad”, have been sought in the General Library of the University of Murcia and in the newspaper “La Verdad”. Then, a “model file” has been developed, it contains all the aspects to be analyzed on the subject, focus, structure and language. The working tool for the analysis of the columns has been the SPSS statistical program. Also some conducted interviews have been realized with their peers and other journalists working the opinion column. Conclusions- The study of this research leads us to affirm that Garcia Martinez is a columnist which finds in the personal’s articles the nature the best way to publicize what you want to know, and he makes it making use of the very freedom granted of this type of articles, both from the point of view of language as in the selection of topics. The author shows free formalities the reader is directed to the ease with which he is comfortable when counting events. Also found that García Martínez has its own peculiarities, most notably the use of a language of proximity, for that he appeals to a record in the geographic area of the Region of Murcia, as well as listening own terms on the street and transferred to the column profusely used colloquialisms, and we find in dialogue orality and its main resources to approach the reader. The author seeks complicity with their audience through the use of expressions, proverbs or sayings known, in their eagerness to be understood, and sometimes alters consciously using, if necessary, to jokey. Regarding the structure of his articles, we found that García Martínez has neither starts nor characteristic end, nor habitually uses a circular structure; granting, by contrast, more value to a conversational tone that maintained from the beginning to the end of the article. Through the columns/articles of the author ethos is manifested, which in this case reflects the taste for everyday and for simplicity, their rejection of foreign words, his love of reading, his fondness for nature, classical music and the simple things, the pride of being born in the Altiplano and the memory of his childhood that makes him bring phrases and expressions heard in his childhood, the exaltation of his profession, his sensitivity to the conscious use of a plain language -being that it has been found that sometimes, the author uses more literary beauty-marked records, and his obsession with himself understood and that every people understand it.
