Description
Abstract
Eduardo Ladislao Holmberg.
The interest in evolutionism has long had important ties with the Southern Cone. Many of Darwin's observations were the result of his explorations along the South American coast aboard the Beagle, and stemmed in particular from his discoveries in Argentina. Subsequently, Darwin's work was to have a profound impact on the River Plate area itself, as evidenced in its literature. The present work focuses on works of fiction that look at evolution from the perspective of fantasy, the origins of science fiction or speculative fiction, particularly in the work of Leopoldo Lugones and Horacio Quiroga, without forgetting the previous work of Eduardo Ladislao Holmberg.
