Abstract
El presente artículo analiza las diferencias sobre la percepción del grado en Turismo entre el alumnado del grado y el tejido empresarial hotelero de la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros, República Dominicana. Para ello, se toman en cuenta las aspiraciones profesionales de los estudiantes a través de su experiencia como alumnos mediante 329 encuestas que recopilan sus percepciones sobre el grado, su funcionalidad y el valor de los conocimientos adquiridos en el mercado laboral, y se contrastan con las valoraciones de los principales directores de hotel de la ciudad recopiladas en entrevistas personales y semiestructuradas. Tomando en cuenta las divergencias entre las expectativas, la prioridad de competencias y el realismo laboral, el texto propone la teoría de Bandura ( 1977) como marco explicativo para entender cómo los modelos observacionales crean puentes que fomentan la construcción de aspiraciones profesionales.
This article analyzes the differences in perception of the degree in Tourism between students and the hotel business community in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. To this end, the professional aspirations of students are taken into account through their experience as students by means of 329 surveys that gather their perceptions of the degree, i ts functionality, and the value of the knowledge ac quired in the labor market, and these are contrasted with the assessments of the city's leading hotel managers gathered in personal and semi -structured interviews. Taking into account the divergences between expectations, the priority of skills, and labor realism, the text proposes Bandura's theory ( 1977) as an explanatory framework for understanding how observational models create bridges that foster the construction of professional aspirations
