Abstract
En este trabajo se define en primer lugar lo que es el murciano y su diferencia con el panocho.
A continuación, se muestra una selección de textos literarios en lengua dialectal que tratan de
temas relacionados con el agua: la vida en la barraca al borde de los cauces, el amor en relación con
el agua, el riego de los cultivos, la sequía y las inundaciones… sin olvidar las leyendas. Las obras
seleccionadas van desde el romance anónimo «La barraca», del siglo XIX, hasta obras de autores contemporáneos,
pasando por los clásicos, como Pedro Díaz Cassou, José Frutos Baeza o Vicente Medina,
autores a los que debemos un patrimonio cultural de gran valor etnográfico.
Abstract: In this work it is defined first of all what is murcian language and its difference with the panocho. Then, we offer a selection of literary texts dealing with issues related to water: life in the shacks at the edge of the channels, love in relation to water, irrigation of crops, drought and floods... without forgetting the legends. The selected works range from the anonymous romance «La barraca», from nineteenth century, to works by contemporary authors, through classics like Pedro Díaz Cassou, José Frutos Baeza or Vicente Medina, authors to whom we owe a cultural heritage of great ethnographic value.
