Abstract
Within urban and public art, photography is often used as a documentation tool. However, photography as a form of expression is also very present in the work of many artists who are part of this artistic movement. To carry out their work, they usually use large-scale prints that they adhere to the wall using the paste-up technique. In relation to the type of materials they use, we will highlight the specific conservation problem, which responds to various alteration mechanisms developed by different factors and deterioration agents that have been identified and grouped. This study aims to expand knowledge of the materials that form part of this type of works and, in turn, highlight their behavior in relation to the factors of the environment in which they are located. Finally, mention is made of the work of the conservator-restorer who, when faced with this type of creation, is relegated to an important documentation task, where photography comes into play again, in this case as a recording tool for the preservation of this type of ephemeral works.
