Abstract
This study has aimed to analyze the diversity of gender in the boards of directors of the companies belonging to the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (from now Merco). With the study carried out of the 49 companies, it has been studied how many women and men make up the boards of directors of the companies studied and which of them the number of women as board members represent at least 30% of the total board members, The results obtained of the analysis have shown how even the masculine gender continues to represent the majority in management positions and, therefore, most companies do not reach the recommendation of obtaining that 30% by 2020, although some, although in lesser measure, if they arrive and even exceed it. Finally, some advantages and disadvantages of gender diversity are detailed, making conclusions later and showing that although there is a current legislation that covers this, as they are simple recommendations, companies have not yet established it. The solution would be in an organizational culture that is aware of this problem and with this, and the legislation, is solved and there is an equality between both sexes, since diversity helps companies in their productivity as well as their reputation and loyalty.
