Abstract
En el presente artículo se aborda un análisis del concepto de diversidad y sus repercusiones en el ámbito educativo. Resaltamos la idea de considerar la diversidad como una manifestación natural de la individualidad humana y no como un déficit a corregir. Apoyándonos en la conceptualización que la Biología realiza sobre la biodiversidad, salvando las distancias, reflexionamos sobre la necesidad de respetar la diversidad como requisito imprescindible para asegurar desde el Sistema Educativo un equilibrio que favorezca la consecución de sus finalidades. Asimismo finalizamos con una reflexión sobre cómo ha de abordarse el tema de la diversidad clesde la formación inicial del profesorado.
The present article broaches an analysis of the idea of diversity and its repercusion in education. It underlines the idea of considering diversity as a natural display of human individuality and not as an imperfection to be corrected,. We base our statement on the biological concept of biodiversity. Thenwe go on reflecting the necessity of respecting diversity as an essential requierement to assure, from the educational system, the balance needed to obtain the aimed goals. We end up reflecting on how the subject of diversity should be approached in the initial stages of teaching training.
