Description
Abstract
ABSTRACT: The main purpose of the present study is to dilucidate the potencial of Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) to disclose changes in postural control system (PCS) associated with proprioceptive training. A secondary purpose is to study the efects of external perturbation and visual information deprivation in PCS. For both purposes DFA was applied to the study of nonlinear variability of body sway in 39 young football players. Body sway was registered during 102.4 s at a frequency of 80 Hz, before and after an intervention period, a football season, during which one half of the randomly assigned participants was proprioceptive trained and the other half was not. he results showed no signiicant diferences between the DFA analysis obtained for proprioceptive trained young football players and the not proprioceptive trained ones. No evidence of external perturbation or visual information deprivation efects on PCS was elicited through this study.
