    Modelo de Utilidad para Mejora Social con Responsabilidad Social Estratégica. Un enfoque inclusivo desde el Trabajo Social

    This comparative and documentary research proposes an initial systemic tool: the Utility Model for Social Improvement with Strategic Social Responsibility, framed from the professional prac tice of Social Work. In current organizational contexts, social workers face the ongoing challenge of designing interventions grounded in regulatory frameworks, international standards, and inclusive, systemic models. The proposed model aims to facilitate professional interventions related to organi zational social development by aligning national regulatory compliance—such as the Official Mexican Standards—with internationally recommended frameworks, including those from the International La bour Organization (ILO), ISO 26000 guidance on social responsibility, ISO 31000 on risk management, and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Through normative analysis and the use of comparative tables, the model demonstrates how legal mandates and voluntary international standards can converge into a single strategic framework. This integration promotes ethical, inclu sive, and transformative decision-making processes within public, private, and social organizations. Moreover, the model positions Social Work as a key actor in promoting labor human rights, collective well-being, and socially valuable outcomes. It also introduces the concept of “social license to operate” as an ethical foundation for organizations to gain legitimacy and trust within society. The proposal offers flexibility in application, allowing the substitution of national regulations or human rights focus according to the organization’s context and objectives. It provides a practical, adaptable, and systemic tool to align operational strategies with ethical commitments and sustainable development.

    Políticas alimentarias y sensibilidades en La Matanza: Una lectura de encuentros y superposiciones (Argentina, 2020-2024)

    From a sociological perspective of social policies and bodies/emotions, the article aims to analyse the national, provincial and municipal food programmes implemented in La Matanza (Buenos Aires, Argentina), between 2020 and 2024. A matrix was constructed based on an investigation of official websites and documents, in which 25 interventions were recorded that are implemented simultaneously and converge in institutional dependencies, target population, objectives and benefits. From the state’s perspective —embedded in the design of these policies— there is an assumed failure regarding the inadequate access to and consumption of food by those categorized as ‘socially vulnerable.’ The proposed adequate, acceptable, and desirable solution involves supplementing their diets and educating them on what, how, and where they should eat, buy, cook, and produce food. This pedagogization entails the responsibilization of individuals and the individualization of the food issue, thereby obscuring its structural causes and other dimensions. In their persistence and expansion, these food interventions become part of broader processes of social normalization, revealing a politics of perversion as a central element of the politics of sensibilities in the 21st century.

    Supervisión y Practica Reflexiva: Claves para el Desarrollo de Competencias en Trabajo Social Universitario

    The study explores the contribution of Reflective Practice during curricular internships in the development of professional competencies in Social Work students, highlighting its impact on their preparation to face complex contexts. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Data was collected through questionnaires directed at students, internship tutors, and supervising teachers, as well as a discussion group with faculty members. The results show that Reflective Practice facilitates the integration of theory and practice, promotes critical reflection, and improves key skills such as empathy, emotional management, and self-awareness. Both students and supervisors positively evaluated pedagogical approach as a tool that strengthens ethical and professional competencies. In conclusion, reflective practice is established as an essential tool in the comprehensive training of future social work professionals, promoting technical learning, personal growth, and a commitment to ethics and social justice.

    Servicio de ayuda a domicilio: desafíos que fortalecen el Trabajo Social

    In the field of home care, social workers, as service coordinators and direct care for users, face a deep and continuous interaction with individuals in vulnerable situations, which exposes them to various adversities. This research aims to explore and understand the coping mechanisms and strategies that social work professionals implement in the home help service, recognizing the complexity of their actions and the strengths that they develop through their daily functions. Using a qualitative methodology, semi-structured interviews have been carried out with 25 Social Work professionals who provide home help services in Malaga. The results reveal that these professionals are oriented towards action, resolving the difficulties they encounter in their daily work. Coping strategies range from mutual support to seeking professional supervision and continuing education. It is concluded under the evidence that social work professionals in this field experience adversities that they face in their daily practice in relation to their care and coordination functions. It is essential to recognize and address these professional experiences not only to support your emotional well-being, but also to improve the quality of service offered.

    Condiciones laborales del Trabajo Social Gerontológico en España: Análisis exploratorio del ámbito privado y del tercer sector a través de la plataforma InfoJobs

    Demographic aging represents one of the greatest social, economic, and healthcare challenges of the 21st century, significantly impacting the labor market, particularly in the field of dependency care. In this context, Gerontological Social Work plays a crucial role in promoting the quality of life of older adults. However, there is a lack of studies analyzing the employment opportunities and working conditions of these professionals. This study adopts a quantitative and observational approach to examine job postings in the field of Gerontological Social Work in Spain during 2024, based on 508 job offers collected from the InfoJobs platform. The analysis includes the geographical distribution of vacancies, contract types, working hours, educational and experience requirements, professional licensing, and salary transparency. The results reveal a significant territorial disparity in job availability, with a high concentration in Catalonia and Madrid, while several autonomous communities show a scarcity of opportunities. Additionally, although permanent contracts slightly predominate (54.3%), a considerable proportion of temporary employment remains (45.7%), with notable regional variations. The study concludes that job precariousness, the lack of clear information, and the unequal distribution of job vacancies may compromise both the job stability of social workers and the quality of care provided to older adults. Greater regulation and institutional coordination are recommended to ensure equitable and sustainable working conditions in the gerontological sector.
