Description
Abstract
Abstract: This article concerns Gyp, nom de plume of Sibylle Gabrielle Riquetti de Mirabeau, Comtesse de Martel (1849-1932), with the aim of studying the author's image ofered by herself in her memoirs (Souvenirs d'une petite flle), the author's image given by the press of her time and by her contemporaries, such as Anatole France, as well as the one portrayed in the most recent biographies about Gyp. All these depictions of Gyp, once combined, ofer a reasonably rounded portrayal of the author and will allow us to verify to what extent the diferent representations of Gyp are shaped through a combination of factors, such as the epochal conception or the subject's view, amongst others.
