Abstract
En el contexto de la convergencia europea, la función
tutorial se plantea como una competencia profesional y
como una estrategia docente del profesorado
universitario. Su implantación y desarrollo va a requerir
un cambio de actitud y una nueva manera de orientar la
formación universitaria, dado que ahora se enfatiza un
enfoque centrado en el alumno frente a un enfoque
centrado en el profesor en el que el aprendizaje es el
paradigma de referencia de la práctica educativa. Este
cambio debería estar impulsado de manera institucional,
iniciándose procesos de formación acordes con las
nuevas exigencias, con el fin de que el profesorado
sintonice con las nuevas perspectivas de la formación
universitaria y con el nuevo rol a desarrollar en la tutoría
académica.
In the context of the construction of the European Higher Educational Area, tutoring is seen by university teachers as a professional competence as well as a teaching strategy. Its implementation and development will require changes in attitudes and a new way of managing and focusing university training. Now the focus of university training use to be the teacher whereas the introduction of the new system put the student and her learning at the centre of the training process. This changes should be promoted by the universities themselves, beginning training processes student and learning-centered, in order to help university teachers to get acquainted with this new perspective and to learn how to develop in practice the new role as tutor.
