Abstract
María de Quesada carried out the functions of viceregality – representing the king in the kingdom of Murcia – on behalf of her son, a minor, Pedro Fajardo. She led a faction in the war between the Fajardo clan, at the same time as the Castilian political crisis taking place between Juan II and his favourites, the infantes of Aragon and the Nasrid emirate. This article recovers her political role as acting “vicereine”.
