Abstract
culturales.
New road planning breaks into the territory where it runs through as an alien element. But during the nineteenth century the conception of these works and their adaptability to the environment made possible an easy integration with it. Even sometimes, like in this case, the road brought positive values that led to an improvement in its environment. These relationships are studied in the case of the third-tier road from Alzira to Favara (section Alzira-Corbera), whose construction boosted the transformation of the territory and the formation of an important set of bourgeois orange trees orchards that coincide in time with the expansion process of this business crop. These circumstances have helped it to become one of the main routes to approach this type of landscape with recognised aesthetic and cultural qualities.
