La novela gráfica
Frankenstein
de Gris Grimly adapta la historia de Mary Shelley usando
una selec
ción de fragmentos del texto original. Este trabajo estudia el relato del
monstruo tal como lo presenta Grimly en su obra, mostrando paralelismos y diferencias
con la novela del siglo XIX. En primer lugar, se analiza en sus aspectos gráficos en
comparación
con la narrativa del Dr. Frankenstein en el libro de Grimly. El foco de
atención se centra después en algunos de los elementos que han sido modificados en el
cómic, transformando al monstruo en un personaje mucho menos introspectivo de lo que
lo era en la
novela de Shelley.
Gris Grimly’s graphic novel Frankenstein adapts Mary Shelley’s story using a selection of fragments from her original text. This paper studies the monster’s tale a s Grimly presented it in his work, showing the parallelisms and differences with the 19 th century novel. First of all, it is analyzed in its graphic aspects in comparison to the narrative told by Dr. Frankenstein in Grimly’s book. The focus lies then in s ome of the elements which have been changed in the comic, which makes the monster a much less introspective character than he was in Shelley’s novel.
