Euripides has a predilection for proposing characters that embody the power and, at the same time, they are protagonists of all sorts of impiety. This work deals with the different types of impiety that these sovereigns are capable of committing and that, definitively, they consist of a transgression of the limits that mark the divine divisions, as well as the traditions of the ancestors. As Euripides exposes in the Heracleidae, there is nothing outside the sphere of piety and religion, there is no moral reference point (Heracl. 619-620). As impious, these sovereigns are glaringly tragic men.

The studies on the late hexameter have progressed a lot in recent decades, but a detailed analysis of the poetry remainders of the Empress Eudocia still needs to be implemented. This study shows that the verses of Eudocia are not affected by the Nonnus’s reform, despite being verses with an epic and Homeric style. The schemata number, the lesser regression of the spondee with respect to Nonnus and his followers, as well as some differences in the use of the caesuras and in the prosody, which show that her hexameter is affected by the change from quantitative rhythm to accentuatory one, they both demonstrate that the Eudocia verse is a singular page in the history of the Greek dactylic hexameter.

Reflexión terminológica sobre el concepto de piedad e impiedad en la Historia de Heródoto.

Puede observarse que desde su óptica helena Heródoto tipifica unas impiedades genuinamente griegas e inequívocamente religiosas. En el universo religioso que plantea este historiador, los hechos y los comportamientos, aunque de pueblos diversos, son pasados por el tamiz del pensamiento religioso tradicional de los helenos. Parece que del análisis de la terminología religiosa en Heródoto puede colegirse que le interesan sobre todo los aspectos legales de la religión más que los conceptuales y no tanto el concepto de religión como tal. El vocabulario estudiado se muestra claramente escorado hacia el terreno de la irreligiosidad, pero dentro de una idea tradicional de la piedad y de que no puede haber impiedad sin castigo.
