Diálogo con Michael Cole: 20 años de Psicología Cultural

Abstract

A continuación presentamos una entrevista realizada a Michael Cole. En el año 2016 hice una estancia en el LCHC (Laboratorio de Cognición Humana Comparada) que él dirige desde los años setenta. Allí tuve la oportunidad y el placer de entrevistarle recordándole que hacía justo 20 años que había sido publicada su conocida obra titulada “Psicología Cultural”, traducida a varios idiomas, entre ellos el español. Este hecho nos permitió debatir sobre los principales problemas de la Psicología Cultural y sobre su visión de la evolución de esta en los años transcurridos desde la publicación de su libro. Además, Cole hace un breve recorrido recordando los principales momentos históricos que han conformado estas teorías tanto en la Unión Soviética como en Estados Unidos.

The following is an interview with Michael Cole. In 2016, I spent one year at the Laboratory of Comparative Human Cognition (LCHC), which he has directed since the 1970s. While I was there, I had the opportunity and pleasure to interview him and remind him that he had published his well-known work "Cultural Psychology", translated into several languages, including Spanish, 20 years ago. This led us to discuss the main problems of cultural psychology and his view of how it has evolved since his book was published. Cole also briefly reviewed the main historical moments that have shaped these theories in the Soviet Union and the United States.
