Abstract
Propuesta para estudiar las relaciones existentes entre los estudios universitarios de Biblioteconomía y Documentación y la
actividad profesional. En especial se reflexiona sobre la descripción y exigencias del mercado laboral y la preparaci ón que otorgan los estudios.
Se presentan los métodos más comunes para acercarse a su estudio, describiéndose ejemplos característicos. Finalmente se comentan los
resultados de un estudio sobre inserción en el mercado laboral de los titulados por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
ABSTRACT: Proposal for the study of the existing relations between Library and Information Science students and the professional activity. There is a special insight into the labour market description and requirements and the training provided by this career. The most common methods for approaching this subject are presented, and some typical examples are offered. Finally, the outcomes of a study on the insertion into the profession by graduates from Carlos III University in Madrid are examined.
