Description
Abstract
denuncia”.
Between 1985 and 2012, the MFUDD has gradually incorporated the concept of memory into their textual discourse as a supplement to their original demand for the return of family members as “alive and well” who were lost and detained during Uruguay’s dictatorship. By analyzing the development of this acquisition in relation to the politics of the DDHH on the national level, one can see how the concept of memory has been reconfigured and given new meaning. This sheds light on the complex relationship between the State, the power of intervention by social movements, and MFUDD’s personal mission. Consequently, this article intends to reflect on the newly acquired concept of memory, serving as a “memory of denunciation”.
