Description
Abstract
The phenomena of eclecticism and diffusion of borders between the popular and the academic in the last decades have been recognized under the conceptual umbrella of postmodernism. We offer here a study on a significant example for the musical field: the case of Jonny Greenwood. Member of the successful group Radiohead, and composer of film soundtracks, his creative work has also approached the field of contemporary art music, especially textural music and the figure of Krzysztof Penderecki. We discuss here these relationships and influences that run in two directions: both in Greenwood's symphonic work and in Radiohead's music.
