Abstract
Resumen: Maryse Condé nos introduce en La Migration des cœurs en la isla de Guadalupe durante la época colonial a finales del siglo XIX. A través de dos familias rivales, Los Gagneur y Los Linsseuil, la escritora pone en relieve las diferencias raciales de la isla tras la abolición de la esclavitud. La trágica pasión de Razyé por Cathy Gagneur y la fatalidad de su descendencia le sirven de pretexto para abordar el tema de la muerte y del más allá y para profundizar en las creencias populares del universo sobrenatural antillano: culto de los espíritus, iniciación a los ritos de paso y comunicación con el más allá. Maryse Condé presenta una trama narrati
va compleja puntuada por la multiplicidad de espacios y de voces narrativas que aportan otra mirada sobre la existencia de personajes erradicados del espacio físico y de su propio espacio interior.
Abstract: Abstract Maryse Condé delves into La Migration des coeurs in the island of Guadalupe during the colonial period in the latter part of the xIx century. Portraying two rival families, the Gagneur and the Linsseuil, after the abolition of slavery their differences are made vivid through her writing. The tragic passion of Razyé for Cathy Gagneur and the fatality of her descendants are envisaged as a pretext in order to tackle the matter of death and beyond and to penetrate into the popular believes of the supernatural world of Antillano: cult of spirits, initiation rite of passage and communication from beyond. Maryse Condé unveils a complex narrative trauma embellished with multiplicity of space and of narrative utterances that provide the other view on the existence of characters eradicated in the physical space and in their innerselves.
