Abstract
determinadas.
Abstract: The chlorophyll contents of three leaves from plants of different genotypes of wheat and barley were determined to study the effect of drought at the end of the growth cycle, and to determine its influence on final yield. All plants were growing in the field in a randomised block trail with three replications. Significant (p<0.001) relationships were recorded between the chlorophyll concentration of the leaves and the values obtained with the SPAD-502 meter. The chlorophyll content of the flag leaf was the greatest of all the leaves analysed and was positively correlated with the thousand grain weight (p<0.01). The present results indicate that the SPAD-502 chlorophyll meter can be useful in the selection of genotypes adapted to certain agroclimatic conditions.
