Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo es argu-
mentar que es posible entender la teoría queer
como una crítica poshistórica, es decir, como una
corriente que no sólo cuestiona el esencialismo
sexual y la heteronormatividad –sus blancos teóri-
cos más comunes– sino también la idea de progreso
histórico. Sin embargo, a menudo los estudios
queer son presentados como una defensa de la van-
guardia sexual. El fin de este artículo es reflexionar
sobre esta aparente contradicción y ofrecer una lec-
tura alternativa de este campo teórico que tome en
serio sus ataduras hacia lo normativo.
The goal of this article is to argue that it is possible to think of queer theory as a form of poshistorical critique, that is, as a field that not only questions sexual essentialism and heteronor- mativity –its most common targets– but also the idea of historical progress.
