Description
Abstract
Abstract: Many thinkers have make remarks about modernity’s contradictions. The René Girard’s diagnostic is founded by the mimetic desire, one key element to study violence and religion. The importance of all these themes is not considered by the modern project and also neither by the modern self’s conception. The modernity would be founded in a wrong anthropology with erroneous conceptions about freedom, autonomy and equality, and the culture’s origin. This article’s purpose is to clarify the ambiguity of the modern period, according to Girard.
