Abstract
Se analiza la iconografía presente en 198 medallas no oficiales, acuñadas durante el
período del Gobierno Provisional, instaurado en Rusia tras la abdicación del zar en febrero de
1917, y que actuaron como instrumentos de propaganda y difusión de los valores e ideales de la
revolución. Se han seleccionado los ocho elementos iconográficos más recurrentes en el corpus
de análisis. De cada uno de ellos se ha contextualizado su significación y se ha señalado su
continuidad en la medallística surgida a raíz de la Revolución de octubre de 1917.
The iconography present in 198 unofficial medals, minted during the period of the Provisional Government, established in Russia after the abdication of the tsar in February 1917, and which acted as instruments of propaganda and dissemination of the values and ideals of the revolution, is analyzed. The eight most recurrent iconographic elements in the corpus of analysis have been selected. The significance of each of them has been contextualized and their validity and continuity in the medallistics that emerged as a result of the October Revolution of 1917 has been pointed out.
