Description
Abstract
analizada.
This study intends to characterize the Cogotas I population from a bioanthropological perspective, according different markers provided by the dental anthropolo-gical analysis (caries, dental wear, hypoplasia, tartar and antemortem tooth loss). For this purpose the remains of 43 individuals from 18 different archaeological sites in the North Plateau have been studied, comparing the results obtained with other peninsular assemblages. With this aim, the differences between males and females has also been estimated, as well as among individuals recovered from both primary and secondary funeral deposits. The results indicate differences between males and females, attributable to the type of food consumed by one group or the other and due to the particular demographic profile of the population analyzed.
