que la mera consulta de diccionarios especializados

This article p rovides a critical presentation of the essential traits of the translation of scientific and technical texts, with special reference to central issues such as their typology (more heterogeneous than it is usually thought to be), their history in relation t o translation (crucial as regards the technological development of civilization), the necessary tasks of 2 documentation in order to process them (much more complex than just checking terms in specialized dictionaries), the role played by terminology (centra l but not exclusive), and by interference (which can very well be positive) or its status in the translation market. The overall intention is to provide a complete overview focusing on the heterogeneous nature of this kind of texts and some of its most int eresting particularities as regards translation
