Rompiendo muros. La educación democrática: proyecto comunal de ciudadanía

Abstract

En estas páginas definimos qué entendemos por escuelas democráticas, las cuales constituyen alternativas pedagógicas al sistema hegemónico de educación. Alternativas que ejemplificamos con diferentes experiencias dentro y fuera de España. Si bien reconocemos la importancia y la necesidad de éstas para potenciar la igualdad y la justicia, apuntamos algunos límites para la transformación social y cómo iniciar el camino para su superación.

In this paper we define what we understand by democratic schools, which are pedagogical alternatives to the hegemony system of education. These alternatives are illustrated through several experiences which have taken place within and outside Spain. Although we acknowledge their importance and need to promote equality and justice, some limits to social transformation are pointed out as well as how to initiate the process of overcoming them.
