Competencia digital docente para la búsqueda, selección, evaluación y almacenamiento de la información

Abstract

En el ámbito social y en el ámbito educativo, las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) han avanzado de forma vertiginosa, revolucionando digitalmente la formación actual de los estudiantes y de los propios docentes. La sociedad actual demanda ciudadanos altamente cualificados en competencia digital. Esta investigación tiene por objetivo general analizar la competencia digital docente respecto a las destrezas para acceder, seleccionar, evaluar y almacenar la información del estudiante que está a punto de finalizar sus estudios en el Grado de Maestro de Educación Primaria en diferentes universidades públicas y de enseñanza presencial en la comunidad autónoma de Andalucía. Para ello, se sigue un método cuantitativo por técnica de encuesta sobre una muestra de 698 estudiantes. Los resultados muestran que los futuros docentes finalizan sus estudios con un nivel intermedio respecto a la navegación, búsqueda y filtrado de la información. Sin embargo, manifiestan tener mayor déficit competencial en cuanto al empleo de mecanismos de filtrado para mejorar la selección de la información, así como en lo que respecta al conocimiento de los parámetros que han de cumplir las páginas web y la información disponible online para garantizar la confiabilidad y veracidad de su contenido. A su vez, destaca un menor nivel competencial en lo que respecta a la creación de copias de seguridad de la información almacenada.

In the social and educational spheres, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have advanced at a dizzying rate, digitally revolutionizing the current training of students and teachers. The current society requires highly qualified citizens in digital competence. The general objective of this research is to analyze the digital teaching competence with respect to the skills to access, select, evaluate and store the information of the student who is about to finish their studies in the Grade of Primary Education Teacher in different public and face-to-face teaching universities in the autonomous community of Andalusia. For this purpose, a quantitative method is followed per survey technique on a sample of 698 students. The results show that future teachers finish their studies at an intermediate level with respect to navigation, search and filtering of information. However, they claim to have a greater competence deficit in terms of the use of filtering mechanisms to improve the selection of information, as well as in terms of knowledge of the parameters to be met by web pages and the information available online to guarantee the reliability and veracity of their content. At the same time, there is a lower level of competence regarding the creation of backups of stored information.
