This paper is written within the frame of the general reflexion on the actual Reform of the School System. We analyse the new requierements of the teaching training derived from that Reform. We worked out those needs by analysing both the teacher and didactic models underlying the Diseños Curriculadres Base presented for public debate. We analyse the innovations that classroom work is going to imply for teachers when working with the new curricula with regard to the previous one. We argue that the initial teacher education and the professional inservice training constitute a continuum, on which the teacher has to be trained not only in theoretical knowledge and technical abilities, but in attitudinal aspects too. We think that this last topic is crucial for the success of the Reform and of the Plan Marco de Formación Permanente del Profesorado. We contend that three years is not enough time for educating neither an infant school teacher, nor a primary school teacher. We also propose that one year of training is not sufficient for graduates (licenciados) to become teachers in a secondary school. |
