- PublicationOpen AccessSelection of general fitness development exercises for first year female students of Duy Tan University (Vietnam)(Universidad de Murcia: servicio de publicaciones, 2024) Hung, Nguyen Xuan; Khoa, Nguyen Huu AnhThe aim of this study was to select and evaluate exercises designed to develop general fitness forfirst-year female students. A randomized controlled trial design (parallel design) was employed. Theresearch methods included document analysis and synthesis, interviews, pedagogical observation, pedagogical examination, pedagogical experiments, and statistical analysis. A total of 200 first-yearfemale students enrolled in the Physical Education Program at Duy Tan University in Da Nang Cityparticipated. They were divided into two groups by random drawing by class: the experimental group(N=100) and the control group (N=100). The experimental group followed the Physical Educationprogram at Duy Tan University with the addition of the selected exercises and modifications, whilethe control group followed the standard General Physical Education program. The researcher selected28 exercises categorized into two groups: Group 1 (exercises with limited movement, 23 exercises)andGroup2(exercisesmeasuringeachpartofmovement,5exercises).Theresultsshowedsignificant improvements in all tested fitness parameters for the experimental group compared to thecontrol group (p<0.05). Additionally, the achievementgrowth rate in all tests assessing generalfitness was higher for the experimental group (p<0.05). The initial application and evaluation of theseexercises demonstrated high efficiency inimproving the general fitness of the first-yearfemalestudents
- PublicationOpen AccessImpact of social media on violence reduction in sports stadiums(Universidad de Murcia: servicio de publicaciones, 2024) Hammouri, Walid Al; Basheer, Mahmoud AlThis study aimed to identify the role of sports media based on social media in reducing the phenomenon of violence in stadiums from the viewpoint of Sports Science Faculty students at the University of Jordan. A descriptive method was employed, and a sample of 190 students (120 males and 70 females) participated. A comprehensive review of relevant research and collection of pertinent information led to the development of a tailored questionnaire. The instrumentconsisted of four axes and 24 items, answered using a five-point Likert scale. Statistical data processing was conducted using the SPSS program. The results indicated that, from the students' perspective, the role of sports media based on social media in reducing violence was moderate. Additionally, statistically significant differences (p<0.05) were found according to gender across all study axes, where males achieved higher arithmetic averages. Significant differences (p<0.05) were also observed according to academic year in the axis of professional commitment to sports media, with second-year students showing higher arithmetic averages. The researchers recommend that sports media based on social media adopt a balanced language when describing matches
- PublicationOpen AccessSocial pressures and their relationship to the achievement motivation of handball players in Jordan(Universidad de Murcia: servicio de publicaciones, 2024) Al-Awdat, Jebril E.; Al-Shawabka, Loay Mohammad; Jawarneh, Randa Saleh; Al-Rawashdeh, Mohammad Salim; Haweeleh, Mohammad Ahmad Abu; Hani, Anan Hussein Bani; Farash, Tamara UsamaThis study aimed to assess the degree of social pressures and their relationship to sports achievement motivation among 51 randomly selected handball players from first-division clubs in Jordan. A descriptive approach was employed, and data were collected via a questionnaire, with analyses conducted using SPSS 26. The results showedthat social pressure levels were moderate, with training pressures being the highest (M = 3.17; a relative importanceof 63.40%), followed by family (M = 2.92;a relative importance of 58.40%) and public pressures (M = 2.32; arelative importance of 46.40%). No statistically significant differences were found in social pressures andsports achievement motivation among handball players based on experience (p > 0.05). While family and public pressures were not significantly correlated with motivation (p>0.05), training and overall pressures were positively correlated with motivation (p<0.05).The study found moderate social pressure among handball players in Jordan, with low public-related pressures and no differences based on experience. Motivation for sports achievement was high, with training-related pressures positively linked to motivation
- PublicationOpen AccessThe effect of physical therapy rehabilitation on fatigue and pain in female patients with fibromyalgia(Universidad de Murcia: servicio de publicaciones, 2024) Abdelaziz, Nada Gamal; Ramzy, Gehan Mahmoud; Fayed, Hala Lotfy; Ahmed, Sara M; Ahmed, Gehan MousaThis study aimed to examine the impact of physical therapy rehabilitation program on fatigue, pain and quality of life in female patients with fibromyalgia. Itwas designed as a single-blinded, randomized, pre and post-test controlled trial. Eighty female patients, aged 25 to 45, diagnosed with fibromyalgia were selected from the Kasr Al Ainyrheumatology outpatient clinic. The participants were allocated into two equal groups using a randomization procedure. Group (A) (control group, n=40) received transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS), moist heat, core muscle retraining, and manual therapy for trigger points, 3 times/week, for 4 weeks. Group (B) (study group, n=40) received the same treatments as Group A, plusaerobic exercises, flexibility exercises, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), 3 times/week, for 4 weeks. Both groups were assessed before and after treatment using the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) and the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ). Statistically significant improvements were observed in FSS and FIQ scores for both groups post-treatment (p<0.05).When the two groups were compared after therapy, the study group (B) showed significantly greater improvement in FSS and FIQ(p<0.05). These findings suggest that physica therapy rehabilitation can effectively reduce fatigue, pain, and improve the quality of life for women with fibromyalgia
- PublicationOpen AccessCreencias de los y las docentes sobre la enseñanza de la educación física en Guayaquil(Universidad de Murcia: servicio de publicaciones, 2024) Hernández Mite, Kelly Deysi; Prados Megías, María Esther; Aguilar Morocho, Elva Katherinehe objective of this study was to examine the epistemological and pedagogical beliefs of physical education teachers and to reveal the relationship between these beliefs. The participants in the study were 364 graduate teachers from the Technical University of Manabí and the University of Guayaquil. The "epistemological beliefs questionnaire" and the "teaching and learning conceptions questionnaire" were used as data collection tools. In the data analysis, descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and path analysis were applied. It was determined that the average scores of the physical education teachers in the learning process-doubt of authority/expert knowledge, learning effort and constructivist conception were high, while their scores in innate/fixed ability, certainty of knowledge and traditional conception were moderate. According to the results of the path analysis, it was revealed that their innate/fixed ability and knowledge certainty beliefs positively predicted traditional conception, while their learning process beliefs, doubting authority/expert knowledge and effort of learning, positively predicted the constructivist conception. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that, in general, physical education teachers believed in the importance of effort and the process in learning, and that they adopted a constructivist conception. Furthermore, it was revealed that epistemological beliefs are an important variable in the prediction of pedagogical beliefs
