- PublicationOpen AccessLectura moral y recepción mozárabe de "Esse buen rey don Alonso / el de la mano horadada". Fuentes y contextos del Romancero de historia de España.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Garvin, MarioThe first known record of the romance Esse buen rey don Alonso / el de la mano horadada is in the Cancionero de romances, printed by Martín Nucio in Antwerp in 1546 or 1547, although the romance predates these dates. This paper investigates the possible origins of this romance, proposing that it was composed in Toledo between the 1530s and 1540s. Based on these coordinates, three reception phases are proposed. The first, by Nucio, proposes a historical reading; a moral reading, somewhat later and typical of the loose sheets; and finally, a reading in a Mozarabic key, likely the most immediate to its composition.
- PublicationOpen AccessDerrida et Khatibi : une amitié interstitielle. Entre pensée critique et relation culturelle.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Abdelouahed, HanaeThis article explores the friendship between two Maghrebi writers, Abdelkebir Khatibi and Jacques Derrida, while examining both the cultural and intellectual aspects of their relationship that lasted until Khatibi’s death in 2009. L’aimance, as a feeling that combines love and friendship, will enable differences to be deployed in a different way of thinking. The article seeks to demonstrate the impact of friendship on critical reflexion.

- PublicationOpen AccessEl "Cancionero de Zaragoza" (92VC y 95VC): estudio material e interno.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Marini, MassimoThanks to the identification of new copies of the Cancionero de Zaragoza (two of the edition of 1492 and one of 1495) it is now possible to establish the essential guidelines of its material and internal structure. The data now available contribute to a more careful bibliographical description, which in turn leads to a correct chronological distribution of the copies and a more accurate reconstruction of their historical development. On the basis of the materiality of these precious incunabula, it is possible to delve deeper into questions that cover not only the dimension of the copy as an individual element, as a specific object or piece of a specific collection, but also, through these material features, it is possible to approach the model of the edition as the product of a cultural design or plan, animated by a specific intention and aimed at a specific public. This process of analysis, which goes from the copy to the edition, allows us to reconstruct the ideal copy of of this songbook and to shed light on its organisation and the aims of this editorial project, which is an important piece in the history of Castilian literature at the end of the 15th century.
- PublicationOpen AccessLa Fraternidad lingüística entre Miguel de Unamuno y José Leite de Vasconcellos.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Gordo Piñar, GemmaThe purpose of this article is the presentation and analysis of the letters that Miguel de Unamuno sent to the Portuguese polygraph José Leite de Vasconcellos. With these missives the crossed correspondence between both is completed, by adding those of Unamuno to those we already knew of Leite. This allows us to delve into the relationship that these two Masters maintained, especially from the field of Philology and, more specifically, Linguistics, one of the main topics and dedications that united them. In addition, this correspondence is interesting because it is part of the beginnings of Unamuno’s relations with Portugal, which over time will become crucial and very fruitful for him.
- PublicationOpen AccessLa caracterización lingüística de los incunables poéticos de Antón de Centenera.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) De Beni, MatteoThis article provides a linguistic characterization of the three poetic incunabula published by Antón de Centenera’s printing press in Zamora approximately between 1482 y 1483: one is Gómez Manrique’s Regimiento de príncipes (known as 82*GM according to the signalling system by Dutton 1990-1991), another includes the Vita Christi and the Sermón trobado al rey Fernando by Íñigo de Mendoza (82IM), the last one gathers mainly texts by Íñigo de Mendoza, but also some by others, such as Juan de Mena, Gómez Manrique and Jorge Manrique (83*IM). The analysis involves graphic, syntactic, morphological, lexical aspects, and other characteristics that can be identified in the texts under consideration.

- PublicationOpen AccessSobre la construcción en plan (de). Recorrido sociolingüístico en el español hablado de la ciudad de Granada.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Repede, DoinaThe study of the construction en plan (de) in contemporary Spanish presents itself as fertile ground for the analysis of grammaticalization processes. The varied functions it takes on in discourse have been the subject of studies on different oral and digital corpora. On this occasion, based on a newly compiled corpus of semi-directed interviews (2020- 2023) in the city of Granada, we aim to analyze the frequency of use and functions of en plan (de) from a sociolinguistic perspective. In general terms, the prevalence of the pragmatic variant is confirmed over the adverbial one, but there is also the emergence of new discursive functions not documented so far in previous studies. Finally, the analysis of the social distribution of this form reveals a higher use in the first generation, especially among men.
- PublicationOpen AccessVida y obra de dos escritoras desconocidas : Olimpia y Amantina Cobos Losúa.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Moreno-Lago, Eva; Macannuco Rodríguez, AnaOlimpia Cobos Losúa and Amantina Cobos Losúa are two sisters who began writing in the early 20th century. Until now, important details about their biographies, literary output, and literary trajectory were unknown. This article aims to clarify many of the uncertainties surrounding both their lives and works. To achieve this, extensive work in various Spanish archives and research in newspaper libraries has been necessary. The cataloging and organization of the consulted material have allowed for the reconstruction of their personal and professional lives and have opened new lines of research. In addition, the participation of intellectual women in the generational act of ‘27 is appreciated.
- PublicationOpen AccessFactors pragmàtics de l'explicitació dels pronoms de subjecte de primera persona en el discurs parlamentari.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Kuzmova, LucieThe explicitation of the personal pronouns jo and nosaltres with the syntactic function of sentence subject in a pro-drop language like Catalan carries certain sociopragmatic information related to the management of the face of the interlocutors. In the present study we look at the functions of the two subject pronouns in current Catalan parliamentary discourse. The analysis carried out allows us to verify that it is an important resource of the self-image of politicians, which allows them to highlight their attitude, their preferences or opinions, which can be individual or group. This strategic communicative behaviour often includes effects on the figure of other people involved in the communicative situation. The expression of the pronoun can serve to establish a contrast between the speaker and the others and can produce an impolite effect or, on the other hand, the pronoun can serve to maintain equilibrium between the images involved and, in this case, the effect can be polite.
- PublicationOpen AccessSanta Águeda, Regina Siciliæ: La impronta de la "santuzza" en la narrativa de Giuseppina Torregrossa.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) García Fernández, JoséThe Palermitan Giuseppina Torregrossa (1956-) portrays in Il conto delle minne a key figure in her narrative: that of the venerable Agatha, a model of resistance and rebellion against the normative codes of her time. Methodologically, this article takes this work by Torregrossa as a starting point to confirm how, for the most part, Sicilian women have shaped their multifaceted identity in the kitchen, that is, in a cultural and gastronomic space crucial for the well-being and progress of the family. However, by commending herself to the saint and manifesting the discursive power of medical humanities, the author of the text also features the matter of breast cancer within the Sicilian female context: the integrity of breasts, a symbolic identity of femininity, seemed to depend on the dictates of a saint who had to be venerated with idolatry, wisdom and profound respect.
- PublicationOpen AccessLa novela corta española del exilio : notas para una reivindicación histórico-literaria y la construcción de un corpus.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Pujante Segura, Carmen MaríaOn the one hand, the short novel has lived in the shadow of other narrative genres such as the novel and the short story, and on the other, Spanish exile literature of the 20th century has lingered in the shadows of the “official” literature (the peninsular, the canonical in that sense), it is not difficult to deduce the resounding neglect or banishment of the short novel by Spanish writers in exile following the civil war, for which no study has been provided to date. In light of the prominent but scarce studies on this literary genre, especially those of a historical nature, this article proposes to offer some preliminary notes that contribute to its repositioning in literary histories and the compilation of a corpus text. This is also an assertion aiming to open up new avenues for research and approaches to the short novel.
- PublicationOpen AccessEdición crítica del "Sermón trobado" de Fray Íñigo de Mendoza.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Crosas, FranciscoThis article is an approach to the most significant problems of textual criticism that arose while editing the Sermón Trobado by Fr. Íñigo de Mendoza from nine extant manuscripts and incunabula. This work is a brief and peculiar mirror of princes addressed to Ferdinand II of Aragon, as well as. This is a peasant allegory that compares righteous government to the good shepherding of a herd of oxen. A provisional stemma is also provided.

- PublicationOpen AccessLas construcciones impersonales de sujeto suprimido del gascón.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Fernández, Beatriz; Berro, Ane; Suïls, JordiIn this article we explore the pronominal construction with an undetermined subject in Gascon (Romieu, Bianchi 2005), which involves the se clitic. This construction could be considered passive, and in turn, the se clitic could be thought as an intransitivizer. Alternatively, this construction could be also categorized as an impersonal with a suppressed subject (Blevins 2003). This is actually the hypothesis that we put forward in this paper. As we will show, the implicit subject of the pronominal construction in Gascon is both semantically and syntactically present and, consequently, this configuration could be typified together with not only other se/si constructions in Romance languages like Italian (Cinque 1988), Catalan (Bartra 2002) and Spanish (Mendikoetxea 1999; Ormazabal, Romero 2019) among others. Furthermore, they could be grouped with other constructions in genetically non-related languages such as Basque impersonals (Ortiz de Urbina 2003; Fernández, Berro 2021; Berro, Odria, Fernández 2022).
- PublicationOpen AccessIdentificación tipográfica, adscripción cronológica y relaciones editoriales de una edición sine notis de la "Historia de la Doncella Teodor".(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Haro Cortés, MartaThis articles delves into a typographical and chronological attribution of an edition sine notis of the Historia de la doncella Teodor, traditionally considered printed in Segovia. A material examination is made of the only copy preserved in the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library), with the signature 67451-B. In the second part of the work, the trajectory of the saga of printers bearing the same name, Andrés de Burgos, is traced based on preserved documentation. Special attention is given to the printer’s activity in Granada, where the Teodor was printed. Finally, the publication date is established, and connections with other editorial products from the Burgos workshop of Juan de Burgos are explored, specifically with the lost edition of the Repertorio de los tiempos, printed in 1495.

- PublicationOpen AccessEl romance y el villancico de Juan del Encina en el pliego poético 97*JJ : estudio y edición crítica.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Dumanoir, VirginieThe present work edits and studies the romance “Triste España sin ventura” (ID3700) and the villancico “A tal ventura tan triste” (ID3837), both written by the poet and musician Juan del Encina. Those circumstantial poems were printed in the incunabula chapbook 97*JJ, after the Tragedia trobada composed by the same author A la dolorosa muerte del Príncipe don Juan de gloriosa memoria, hijo de los muy católicos Reyes de España, don Fernando el quinto y doña Isabel la tercera d’este nombre. They are also preserved, partially but with a polyphonic melody, in the Cancionero musical de Palacio (MP4). The political and cultural context of the court of the Catholic Monarchs and their son don Juan allows us to appreciate the originality of the consolatory ballad and villancico.
- PublicationOpen AccessLa poética del viento en La madre (Grazia Deledda, 1920).(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Aja Sánchez, Pedro LuisThe narrative of Grazia Deledda (1871-1936), characterized by a psychological approach strongly influenced by romantic-idealistic themes in which Sardinian culture and the landscape play a special role, is built around two essential components: the substrate of primitive civilizations and the expressive function of the natural environment, which are embodied through a powerful symbolic structure. This article analyzes the significant value of the wind in the novel “La madre” (1920), allowing us to delve into the understanding of the compositional procedures that the author commonly employs. Our study employs tools from both the philosophy of language and linguistics—specifically semantics—to approach the understanding of the symbol, as well as its referential and dynamic value.
