Abstract
En el paquete BMDP se incluye la prueba de Levene para comprobar la homogeneidad de varianzas. Esta prueba no suele aparecer en los manuales clásicos de Estadística Aplicada. Debido al uso que actualmente se hace del paquete BMDP en investigación educativa, consideramos de interés ofrecer información sobre la prueba de Levene con objeto de facilitar la interpretación de los resultados. Esta prueba es una derivación del análisis de la varianza: el estadístico de contraste es la F de Fisher. Brown y Forsythe (1974) aportan datos que demuestran la robustez de esta prueba por encima de otras como la de Bartlett, F. Layard y Miller.
The BMDP Statistical Package introduces the Levene test of hornogeneity of variances. This test is not easy to find in the classical handbooks of Statistics. The frequent use of BMDP in educational research recommends the diffusion of sorne information about this test to facilitate the interpretation of results. The Levene test is a derivation of the classical one-way analysis of variance and the contrasting statistic is the Fisher's F. Brown and Forsythe (1974) have available data on the robustness of this test.
