Description
Abstract
Neorural literature has resurfaced in the Argentine literary field as one more trend within its current production. Since the foundation of the Rioplatense country, this territory has always been denied an own voice to denounce its situation as consequence of its relegation to national “barbarism”. Our proposal seeks to relate the rural with the previous imaginaries and resemanticise them to release itself from a symbolic burden imposed from the hegemony of the city and, specifically, of Buenos Aires. In this dissertation, an analysis of this literary trend will be proposed based on a case study of Marcos Almada’s novel Galgo (2015) according to the foundations of close Reading and hermeneutics. This perspective, that we will combine with Bourdieu’s sociology of literature and the analyzes of the Argentine literary field that Gallego Cuiñas proposes, it is useful to us to place our autor in the modes of production, circulation and reception, crossed, in turn, by the global and local lines of force. These new editorial conditions are implemented by neoliberalism, in which Almada acts as an independent editor and writer in a simultaneous way, because it is the market that socially articulates literature and the need of literary actors to appear constantly in the public space as an optimal way to obtain more visibility in the search for recognition.
