Description
Abstract
Abstract: This article presents a reading of the Quechua play El robo de Proserpina, written in Quechua by the Cusco priest Juan Espinoza Medrano in the 17th century, from a cosmopoetic perspective. Cosmopoetics is understood as the tendency of indigenous rationality and creativity to establish a dialogical link with the rest of living beings, recognising the human as part of a community of the living. The article will show that Espinoza Medrano's work, from a heterogeneous Christian perspective, both denies and reaffirms the validity of Amerindian poetics.
