Description
Abstract
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic
disease characterised by synovial lining hyperplasia and
progressive destruction of joint tissues. Experimental
data suggests that abnormal alterations in the expression
of proteins involved in maintaining homeostatic control
of the cell cycle is involved in disease progression in
RA. By contributing to the overgrowth of synovial
tissue, factors such as dysregulated proliferation or
reduced apoptosis of cells can directly influence the
pathological outcome of RA.
