Abstract
Este artículo es fruto de una investigación que tenía por objetivo conocer la realidad que enfrenta el profesorado del Programa de Secciones Bilingües en Secundaria en la Región de Murcia. El trabajo se centra específicamente en la valoración realizada por docentes de disciplinas no lingüísticas de la Sección Bilingüe Inglés-Español, mediante una entrevista dirigida a identificar las principales problemáticas que aparecen en la implementación de dicho Programa, así como aquellas dimensiones que más claramente favorecen una enseñanza bilingüe de calidad. Los resultados obtenidos señalan, como efectos de la enseñanza bilingüe en el alumnado: desarrollo del plurilingüismo y la interculturalidad, aumento de las estrategias de aprendizaje y utilización de la transferencia positiva entre lenguas, mejora del rendimiento escolar y aumento de la motivación y de una actitud positiva hacia el aprendizaje, las lenguas y la cultura del país origen de la lengua.
This article is the result of a study aimed at knowing the reality teachers are faced with in the Secondary School Bilingual Sections in the Region of Murcia. This study focuses specifically on the as sessment of the Programme from the perspective of teachers of non-linguistic subjects in the English-Spanish Bilingual Section, by means of an interview with the purpose of identifying the main problems which appear upon implementation, as well as the dimensions that more clearly promote a high quality bilingual educa tion. The results obtained show the following effects of bilingual education on students: development of multilingualism and mul ticulturalism, increased use of learning strategies and positive transfer between languages, improved school performance and increased motivation and positive at titude towards learning, languages and the culture of the foreign country.
