Abstract
El estudio del significado codificado en las piezas léxicas plantea el problema de determinar qué aspectos semánticos son componentes estructurales activos en sintaxis y cuáles son informaciones enciclopédicas no calculadas mediante unidades gramaticales. Este trabajo examina las clases poco estudiadas de los verbos de amago (fintar) y los verbos de fracaso (marrar) desde esta perspectiva y compara de qué manera distintas formas de definir esta división dan cuenta de sus sistematicidades de significado.
Abstract: The study of meaning encoded in lexical items poses the problem of determining which aspects of meaning are active structural components in syntax and which ones represent encyclopedic information not conveyed through grammatical units. This article examines the properties of two under-researched classes of verbs, namely, verbs of feigning (such as fintar) and verbs of failure (e.g. marrar) from the perspective of the distinction between grammatical meaning and encyclopedic knowledge. The study compares different ways of establishing this distinction and their implications for the semantic analysis of the said verbs.
