Abstract
Luego de su aclamada autobiografía Cuadernos
de infancia (1927), Norah Lange (Buenos Aires,
1905-1972) se suma a la lista de nuevos narrado-
res, en la línea fantástica iniciada por Borges, y
escribe una novela singular, Personas en la sala
(1950), de fuerte carácter vanguardista. El objeti-
vo del estudio es analizar los elementos fantásti-
cos que la obra exhibe, haciendo especial hinca-
pié en el motivo del retrato como desencadenante
de mundos ficcionales.
After her acclaimed autobiography Cuadernos de infancia (1927), Norah Lange (Buenos Aires, 1905-1972) joins the new narrators list, following the fantastic line initiated by Borges, and writes a singular novel, Personas en la sala (1950), with a strong avant-garde prose. The object of the study is to analyse the fantastic elements of the work, especially the portraits, which trigger fictional worlds.
