Abstract
Son muchas las lenguas minoritarias que están en grave peligro o en peligro de
extinción (Moseley, 2010). Entre ellas se encuentra el picardo y, en concreto, el
dialecto ch ́timi, que se habla en Nord-Pas de Calais (Francia). Gracias al filme de
Dany Boon, Bienvenue chez les Ch ́tis, que vio la luz en 2008, se ha dado visibilidad a
este dialecto y la región en la que se habla. Tanto es así, que se ha observado que los
diccionarios y las obras de referencia que versan sobre el ch ́timi, han proliferado
desde la aparición de la película, haciendo incluso alusión a esta en sus páginas. En
este artículo, en consecuencia, se tratará el tema de este dialecto minoritario, los
intentos por unificar su grafía a lo largo de los años y la influencia del filme en la
producción de obras lexicográficas.
There are a lot of regional languages that are definitely or critically endangered (Moseley, 2010). Picard is one of them and, in particular, the ch ́timi, that is a dialect of the Picard spoken in Nord-Pas de Calais (France). Thanks to Dany Boon ́s film, Bienvenue chez les Ch ́tis, released in 2008, the dialect and the region have gained importance. As a direct consequence, several dictionaries and reference works about ch ́timi have appeared in the last few years, even mentioning the film in their pages. In this article, we will analyse this dialect, the efforts to standardise its spelling and the influence of Bienvenue chez les Ch ́tis on the production of reference works.
