¿Es posible un enfoque integrador en la investigación narrativa?

Abstract

In this work star from the understanding of the main scheme of an educational research work in order to deal with the specific methodology of life stories, following three parts: situation/problem; methodology and globalisation. In this study, we underline the relevant problems and proposals for narrative. In the same way, and although the life stories, because of their specific subject matter, are understood from a qualitative paradigm, the quantitative subject matter is also taken into account. Therefore, we have opted for an integrating approach of both approaches. Finally, some limitations shown by the narrative method are presented, although we insist on its relevance as a method and a tool for education, and the construction of educational knowledge.

En este artículo se parte de la comprensión del esquema principal de un trabajo de investigación educativa con el fin de abordar la metodología más propia de las historias de vida, siguiendo tres partes: situación/problema; metodología y globalización. Este proceso se realiza señalando problemas y propuestas pertinentes de la narrativa. Asimismo, aunque a priori las historias de vida, por la propia temática que abordan, se entienden desde un paradigma cualitativo, también es preciso considerar la inclusión de lo cuantitativo, es decir, se opta por una perspectiva integradora entre ambos enfoques. Finalmente se ofrecen algunas limitaciones que presenta el método narrativo, aunque se insiste en la importancia que como método y herramienta posee en la actualidad para la educación y la construcción del conocimiento educativo.
