This article aims to reveal the functioning of the communicative circuit that underlies “Prayer for Marilyn Monroe” by the Nicaraguan poet Ernesto Cardenal; because we are in the presence of a text, in the manner of a prayer, of complex and rich polyphony. Therefore, with the aim of showing the variety of enunciative edges that constitute this poem, we made a careful reading of the participation of the interlocutors and we observed how they configure a genuine dialogue not only with God, but, mainly, with the human audience. For this analytical purpose, we do not rely on theoretical notions that deal with discourse such as polyphony, intertextuality, and elocution of ethos and pathos. |
