This article investigates the deep historical horizon of the criminalization of insurgent wisdom (Guerrero 2010) from a materialist perspective with an anti-colonial gaze. The objective is to show the explanatory power of the imaginary Formations of Michel Pêcheux (1969) from an analytical route that Francisco Pineda (2007) left us: The imaginary construction of savagery. From this route, we reflect on the material correlate of the narrative of the extirpation of the idolatries of the 16th century. To clarify these reflections, it is initially explained how the racist narrative was founded in the chronicles that set the image of the savage to justify the exile, slavery and genocide of the invaded nations. Finally, the relationship between the inquisitorial trials and the counterinsurgency strategies is analyzed from the trial against Ocelotl, who was criminalized by the Inquisition of New Spain in 1536. |
