    Contextualización y génesis de la obra de Antonio López

    En este conciso estudio analizamos el contexto artístico nacional e internacional de la década de los sesenta cuando el pintor Antonio López se encuentra sumergido en la búsqueda de un nuevo lenguaje pictórico. También planteamos los conflictos que suponían para él hacer una obra opuesta a la corriente generalizada: la abstracción. Por último, hacemos un rastreo por la historia de la pintura para establecer paralelismos entre nuestro protagonista y otros artistas que estaban interesados en las mismas cuestiones espaciales.

    Nuevos procesos y materiales pictóricos en el arte contextual. El proyecto rompiendo patrones como caso de estudio

    The purpose of this article is to review in depth and in detail the main characteristics (conceptual, technical, aesthetic and artistic) of the site-specific pictorial project: Rompiendo Patrones[Breaking Patterns], as well as to make visible and highlight the entire co-creation process carried out by more than thirty-five people during the months of August and December 2023. In the various sections and subsections of the text, it explains how it was initially idealised in Romania and what kind of textile heritage that it is inspired. It also presents the various phases of the design process that took place in Granada (Spain) and discusses in detail the working methodology used to create the pieces, the assembly and opening in Doña Mencía (Córdoba, Spain) and the dismantling for conservation and possible exhibition in other places. Therefore, Rompiendo Patrones [Breaking Patterns] is an example of a contemporary painting made with textile techniques and materials, through digital and handcrafted processes, designed to be exhibited in a specific public context as textile graffiti and with the aim of publicly paying homage to women of previous generations. Rompiendo Patrones [Breaking Patterns] is one of the artistic projects created specifically for the 25th edition of DMencia 2023, the Contemporary Art Exhibition of Doña Mencía, curated by Moisés Bedmar and with the theme: ‘What happens in the street. Public art and citizen coexistence’.

Resumen Esta investigación doctoral se centra en un análisis exhaustivo de una determina-da producción pictórica y su desarrollo comercial surgida en la década de 1950 en las comarcas alicantinas de L’Alcoià y El Comtat. La investigación consta de dos bloques, el primero versa sobre el análisis de este fenómeno pictórico-industrial, mediante un intenso trabajo de campo, de una producción artística que elabora una pintura-simulacro (efecto simulador de estilos artísticos predecesores) y que ahora se encuentra en proceso de desaparición debido, entre otras causas, a la deslocalización industrial de este producto y al descenso de su demanda. El estudio de esta industria artístico-decorativa nos sirve de base para realizar, en el segundo bloque, un análisis comparado y confrontado de sus relaciones y convi-vencias con la creación plástica contemporánea, entendida como obra de arte. Este análisis lo hemos efectuado a través de la obra irónica de creadores actuales sobre la cultura visual popular. Mock painting, its industry, contacts and coexistence with contemporary artistic creation (1950 - 2010) Abstract This doctorate research focusses on a comprehensive analysis of a particular painting production and its commercial development that originated in the north of Alicante in the regions of l'Alcoià and El Comtat in 1950s. It encompasses two main parts; the first one analyses this pictorial and industrial phenomenon by means of a comprehensive field study of the artistic production of mock paintings –referred to its simulation of former paintig idioms– which is now desappearing due to the industrial relocation of this product and the decrease of market demand among other causes. In the second part, the study and analysis of this artistic and decorative industry is the foundation for a compared and contrasted analysis of its contacts and coexistence with contemporary artistic creation as a work of art. Analysis performed through some modern authors' ironical works about pop and mass culture.
