Acerca de tres obras italianas en vulgar meridional del periodo angevino.
(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Rodríguez-Mesa, Francisco José
While the consecration of Tuscan as a literary language in the Italian peninsula dates back to the 16th century, and its widespread adoption in the Neapolitan territories didn’t occur until the late 15th century, the permeability of written language in Naples and southern Papal States to supra-regional forms, especially Tuscan, seems to start over a century earlier, during the Angevin period. In this article, I aim to analyze three texts written during the Angevin times –Bagni di Pozzuoli, Libro di Cato and Regimen sanitatis– to identify the extent to which they could be considered strictly as southern, both in terms of language and form.
