The severity of this challenge in Spain, which has continued to intensify, underscores the need for more decisive action. The information presented in this research is derived from a survey conducted in two rounds with 35 experts in the field, following the Delphi methodology. The general objective was to assess the opinions of an expert panel on relevant aspects concerning policies to combat depopulation in Spain. Firstly, confirming the significance of the depopulation challenge; secondly, evaluating whether the actions taken so far have been insufficient and poorly coordinated, necessitating a reconsideration; and finally, establishing a prioritization of actions that should be implemented without further delay, encompassing various areas (financing, taxation, coordination, etc.), are among the many measures advocated by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and proposed in the recent diagnoses by highly authoritative institutions such as the Bank of Spain or the Economic and Social Council of Spain (CES).

Un estudio de caso(Universidad de Murcia, Escuela Universitaria de Turismo de Murcia, 2023) Azuara Grande, AlbertoEl interés social por el turismo espiritual ha obtenido un importante crecimiento en los últimos años en las sociedades occidentales, ante la necesidad de escapar de entornos y dinámicas socioeconómicas basadas en sensaciones como la incertidumbre o el estrés. De este modo, el presente artículo tiene por objetivo sentar las bases para extender la práctica del turismo espiritual en espacios con problemas de despoblación en el interior de España. Para ello, se expone el caso de estudio de la singular ermita de San Baudelio de Berlanga (Soria), que se presenta como un atractivo clave en el desarrollo de esta tipología turística. Tras la exploración del caso de estudio, se establece la existencia de notables sinergias positivas entre el desarrollo del turismo espiritual de forma sostenible y la necesidad de actuar en contra de la despoblación de estos espacios para evitar su completo abandono.
