Eje temático 5.- La mujeres mazahuas en defensa del agua. Una actuación en vivo y en directo

Abstract

RESUMEN El Ejército Zapatista de Mujeres Mazahuas en Defensa del Agua (EZMDA) está formado por mujeres indígenas del pueblo mazahua, en el Estado de México. Sus maniobras contra visuales forman parte del presente horizonte de lucha contra la mercantilización de la vida que se está dibujando en todo el planeta, con una presencia notoria en América Latina. Las movilizaciones llevadas a cabo contra el despojo de sus tierras y del agua que por ellas discurre, mediante un trabajo performático de actuación y despliegue de recursos, estética y visualmente fundados, ha alcanzado una dimensión performativa que las ha constituido en sujeto político. Sus cuerpos precarios, junto a sus saberes haceres de cuidado, folclorizados, activados tradicionalmente como objetos en el campo de la visión y la representación por los medios de comunicación, se han convertido en las herramientas utilizadas por ellas, no solo para resistirse a las forma s eurocéntricas y modernas de poder, sino para posicionarse activamente desde la participación comunitaria, y agenciar críticamente su imagen. Al tiempo que reivindican el cuidado del agua y de la tierra como una práctica política, ética, cultural y afectiva, con la que conseguir una serie de derechos humanos y de ciudadanía.

ABSTRACT The Zapatista Army of Mazahuas Women in Defense of Water (EZMDA) is formed by indigenous women of the Mazahua people, in the State of Mexico. Their counter visual maneuvers are part of the present horizon of struggle against the commodification of life that is being drawn all over the planet, with a notable presence in Latin America. The mobilizations carried out against the dispossession of their lands and the water that flows through them, through a performance work of action and deployment of resources, aesthetically and visually founded, has reached a performative dimension that has constituted them as a political subject. Their precarious bodies, together with their knowledges care, folklore, traditionally activated as objects in the field of vision and representation by the media, have become the tools used by them, not only to resist the Eurocentric and modern forms of power, but to actively position themselves from community participation, and to critically position their image. At the same time they demand the care of water and land as a political, ethical, cultural and affective practice, with which to achieve a series of human rights and citizenship.
