ABSTRACT In this article we will make an analysis of the work: Female Extension, by Cornelia Sollfrank, as one of the most relevant cyberfeminist artistic practices of the movement. Developed in the virtual environment, as part of a net art work with feminist discourse in the 1990s. The piece consisted of fictitiously creating more than two hundred international artists as participants in the first Net Art contest. Large number of female contestants, had the greatest opportunity to win any of the three prizes in the contest. Although they formed the majority of the total of participants, the winners were three men. We will observe its methodological proposal and how it was related to the social context for which it was created, in addition to its reading today. |
